Whose Voice is it Anyway?
Whose Voice is it Anyway? is a series of annual events delving into translation practices organised by Dr Charlotte Bosseaux with guest academics and professional translators.
On Thursday 23 February 2023, Charlotte Bosseaux held the 4th edition of Whose Voice is it Anyway? at the University of Edinburgh, titled “Reflecting on ethical challenge in a translation and interpreting context“.

Past editions of Whose Voice is it Anyway?
On March 23rd 2018, a group of around 70 professionals, academics, students and laypeople attended the third in a series of events titled “Whose Voice is it Anyway?” at the University of Edinburgh, to discuss the translation of trauma and emotions. The event was sponsored by the University of Edinburgh, the European Commission and the Institut Français.
On Friday 30th of September 2016, a group of around 60 professionals, academics, students and laypeople attended the second in a series of events titled “Whose Voice is it Anyway?” at the University of Edinburgh, to discuss the issue of women’s voices in translation and interpreting.
On May 15th 2015, Edinburgh University in collaboration with the European Commission and the Goethe-Institut held an event dedicated to voice in the context of translation and interpreting.
